Step by Step
- Go to the AVA – Virtual Learning Environment.
- On the AVA home page, you'll see all your available courses. Click on the current course (the one that's underway).
- Once inside the course, scroll down until you find the "Assessment" block and click the "Assessment" item.
- On the new page, click "Attempt quiz now" (or the equivalent "Start attempt" option).
- A pop-up with time instructions will appear. Read it carefully and click "Start attempt" again.
- The page with the questions and answer choices will be displayed. Read each question carefully and select your answer. Remember: the test lasts 2 hours, and the timer stays visible on screen throughout the assessment.
- After answering all questions, click "Finish attempt" at the bottom of the page.
- A summary screen of your attempt will be displayed. Review it to make sure all questions have been answered. If everything is correct, click "Submit all and finish." If you want to change something first, click "Return to attempt."
- A confirmation pop-up will appear. If you agree, click "Submit all and finish."
- You'll see a review screen for your assessment, with all questions answered. At the bottom of the screen, click "Finish review." Your grade will be displayed automatically.

Your grade appears as soon as you finish the assessment. The answer key and question feedback become available after the assessment closes, according to the academic calendar.
