Quick Answer
If you believe a final grade was calculated incorrectly or does not reflect the quality of your work, you can request a grade appeal by completing the corresponding form through the Student Portal's ticket system, within 30 calendar days of the official release of the final grade.
Before You Begin
To request a grade appeal, have on hand:
- The fully completed Grade Appeal Form.
- Any documentation or evidence that supports your request (for example, submission confirmations, communications with the professor, or the graded material).
How It Works
Students who believe a final grade was calculated incorrectly, or that it does not reflect the quality of the work submitted, have the right to request a grade appeal. The request is made by completing the Grade Appeal Form, available through the Student Portal's ticket system (MUST Ticket System).
The appeal goes through up to two stages of review. In the first stage, the request is evaluated by the Director of Academic Affairs or their designee. If the student disagrees with the decision from this first stage, they may appeal to the Appeals Committee, whose decision is final.
The Appeals Committee is made up of the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Director of Academic Affairs, the Program Coordinator or Director, a Professor, the university's Registrar, and the Dean of Student Experience. The Committee's decisions are made by majority vote, with an established quorum, and are final.
Step by Step
- Complete the Grade Appeal Form in full, with all documentation or evidence supporting your request, and submit it through the Student Portal's ticket system, within 30 calendar days of the official release of the final grade.
- Wait for the decision of the Director of Academic Affairs (or their designee), which will be communicated within 10 calendar days of receiving the complete request.
- If you disagree with the decision, send an official email to the Registrar (registrar@mustedu.com), addressed to the Appeals Committee, requesting a review of your case.
- Wait for the decision of the Appeals Committee, which will be issued within 30 calendar days of receiving the complete appeal request. This decision is final.
Deadlines and Rules
Important Information: A grade appeal request must be submitted within 30 calendar days of the official release of the final grade. Requests submitted after this deadline may not be considered.
