Student Records Policy

Quick Answer

The Registrar's Office maintains each student's academic records permanently and confidentially, protected under the U.S. federal law FERPA. Your information is only disclosed to third parties with your written authorization, and you have the right to review your records and request the correction of inaccurate information.

How It Works

The Registrar's Office at MUST University maintains each student's official academic records, including the admission application and its supporting documentation, transcripts of grades and credits earned at MUST University or accepted from other institutions, and other documents related to the student's academic progress and status. All records are maintained permanently and confidentially.

MUST University follows the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 and the Student Right to Know Act, which guarantee students the right to access their own educational records, to challenge information they consider inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading, and to limit the disclosure of that information to third parties. Your records are not released without your written consent, given through the FERPA form, except when required by a court subpoena, in which case you will be notified, although written consent is not required. Parents of a financially dependent student have the right to inspect the records the university maintains on the student's behalf.

If you believe that information in your records is inaccurate, misleading, or violates your privacy, you may request a correction from the Registrar's Office. The university reviews the request within a reasonable time frame, consulting the appropriate departments to confirm the decision. If the correction request is denied, you will be informed of the decision and of your right to file an appeal.

To update personal or contact information, such as your name, address, email, or phone number, contact the Registrar's Office at registrar@mustedu.com. Changes of name or status may require additional documentation for verification.

Your academic records are retained indefinitely by the university. If you have an outstanding financial balance with MUST University, a hold is placed on your record, preventing registration in new courses until all obligations are settled. Once the balance is paid, removing the hold takes approximately 2 business days.

The Registrar's Office also maintains all official transcripts. Each student receives one official transcript free of charge upon completing the program. Additional transcripts can be requested through the MUST University website, through the Parchment platform, or by email at registrar@mustedu.com, following the same FERPA confidentiality rules.

Deadlines and Rules

  • Removing a hold placed for an outstanding financial balance, once the balance is paid, takes approximately 2 business days.
  • The first official transcript is issued free of charge upon completing the program; additional requests follow a separate process.
  • Changes of name or status on your record may require additional documentation for verification.
  • Requests to correct records are reviewed by the Registrar's Office within a reasonable time frame.
